Welcome

Making that initial therapy appointment is a big step and challenge for many people. If you're viewing this website, you're taking the first step to reach out and secure the support and assistance to help you through some difficult and challenging time and to get back to being you. Making the call to schedule your first session will put you one step closer to a new you feeling more empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being.

I view the initial session as a mutual interview. It gives me the opportunity to find out more about you and what's bringing you into therapy, and the opportunity for you to ask questions about my professional background, education, and experience. It's crucial that we both feel that we can work together and that we're a good match.

I provide Solution Focused, Cognitive-Behavioral, Object Relations, and Control Mastery psychotherapy. I also incorporate Soto Zazen meditation and Naikan therapy, a Japanese form of psychotherapy, into my practice. The approach used in treatment is influenced by the person, previous experience in therapy, presenting problems/symptoms, and goals. The ultimate goal is to help you manage symptoms, uncover your true potential, and lead a life that is worthy and satisfying. Although we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be contributing to your symptoms and holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation, looking for symptom relief, or you're just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
